Images/photos

In your work you can include images of e.g., field sites, structures, or microscope pictures to help your reader to visualise parts of your research that are difficult to describe concisely in words12. When including an image, always make sure the resolution is sufficient for the medium you are using. Preferably use your own photographs. Pay attention to copyright regulations when you use photographs from the internet in your work.

Checklist images:

  • Images in scientific writing must always contain scale bars12
  • Label important features12
  • Add a legend when you are using colours, symbols etc. to clarify features12
